Program

Måndag 27 juni Tema: Fibrer och Färg, Midsommarstämning
Incheckning, invigningstal följt av en kreativ eftermiddag som vi tillbringar i trädgården.
Här ägnar vi oss åt kreativt skapande vid olika inspirerande ”Prova på stationer”. Vi fikar och minglar. Här ges också möjlighet att beskåda olika utställningar och träffa flera av veckans kommande aktörer.

Tisdag 28 juni Tema: Bohus Stickning
Vi tar del av historiken bakom Bohus Stickning och hur detta Bohuslänska nödhjälpsarbete utvecklades och idag lever vidare. Vi provar på den speciella tekniken som används i Bohus Stickning och får också möjlighet att beskåda flera av plaggen ur denna stickade kulturskatt!
Kvällen avslutas med föredrag och stickcafé!

Onsdag & Torsdag 29 och 30 juni Tema: Tradition, hantverk och konst i Bohuslän
På förmiddagarna åker vi på studiebesök och utflykter på Tjörn. På eftermiddagen har vi workshops på skolan.
Grupp1 onsdag, Grupp2 torsdag: Vi besöker vårt fina hembygdsmuseum på Tjörn för att studera en del av det bohuslänska textila arvet, se bruksföremål och miljöer och lära oss mer om traditionerna här på Tjörn.
Grupp1 torsdag, Grupp2 onsdag: Vi ser mer av ön och tar del av öns specialiteter. Ett avslutande stopp blir i centralorten Skärhamn med allt vad orten har att erbjuda!
Båda dagarna avslutas med föredrag och stickcafé!

Fredag 1 juli Tema: Blandade karameller
Dagen inleds och avslutas med föredrag och däremellan erbjuds flera workshops om olika tekniker
Kvällen går i lekens och tävlingarnas tecken!

Lördag 2 juli Tema: Blandade karameller fortsätter
Dagen inleds med föredrag som följs av workshops om olika tekniker.
Lördagen avslutas med en festmiddag med lättsam underhållning och sång!

Söndag 3 juli Förmiddag Tema: Framtiden
Med nya medier tar vi stickningen in i framtiden! Summering, hemresa kl 11

Welcome to Nordic Knitting symposium . We look forward to meet in knitting symposium in Sweden this summer !
Below you find a description of how the week will be organised

Monday june 27 Theme: fibers, colours and dye
We check in to our rooms, and listen to the first speakers. We mingle and try different crafts and experience exhibitions and other inspiring activities. This day we also focus on Swedish midsummer celebrations and you will learn a little bit more about them.

Tuesday june 28th Theme: Bohus Knitting
We learn about the history of Bohus Knitting and how this craft was developed aiding families in need in Bohuslan a long tima ago and how it is still developing and keeps attracting so many knitters. We try the different techniques used when working with bohus knitting and we also get to see some of these garments fromour cultural heritage.
During the evening we will listen to a speech and have a knitting cafe

Wednesday & Thursday june 29 and 30 Theme: Traditional crafts , arts and nature
Both days we will make field trips on the island before lunch In the afternoon we will have workshops at the school .
Day 1: Field trip to our lovely local museum of traditional daily life. We will see a lot of crafted objects, wowen textiles and traditional garments and other objects. We will learnabout traditions and daily life on the island a long time ago.
Day 2: We take at trip on the island and enjoy local specialities.We visit Skärhamn, a fishing village on the west coast of the island and enjoy a stroll in the harbour and other activities
Wednesday and Thursday nights have speaches and knitting cafes during the evenings

Friday july 1 Theme: Mixed treasures, a lot of different activities!
Speaches in the morning and in the evening and inbetween we have inspiring workshops with many different worshop leaders
In the evening, fun and games, there will be competitions!

Saturday July 2 Theme: Mixed treasures, a lot of different activities continues!
Speaches in the morning and in the evening and inbetween we have inspiring workshops with many different worshop leaders
Saturday evening a festive dinner evaluations and some music as well!

Sunday July 3rd
Morning gathering after breakfast, checking out and the symposium is at its end.
